Here’s the difference:
– TS cables are generally used for mono, unbalanced signals. These are most commonly used with electric guitars.
– TRS cables can be used for mono, balanced, and stereo signals.
If you get a TS cable, you’ll only hear audio from one side of the headphones, so you need a TRS cable to get stereo. I may have misspoken by saying TSR, there’s no such cable; the correct term is TRS, which stands for “Tip, Ring, and Sleeve” and refers to the parts of the jack plug that the different conductors are connected to.
