It was most rewarding to go through the three lessons on how to transcribe a song. I'm looking forward to practicing this skill. The six-step procedure that Warren gives us will be extremely helpful. Also, I see that I will need to be more intentional and determined to proceed to the intermediate and advanced levels using the ear-training app.

Listening for that bass line is key to getting the transcription closer to the actual recording. It determines how the song moves through the progression. Transcriptions have always been challenging for me. There are so many fantastic tips and ideas here that make transcribing much easier. This might be, in my opinion, the most helpful and useful video in the entire series because of the importance of playing by ear in the Gospel style and tradition.

Very Thoughtful Course about learning the "magic" of transcription. As you know Warren, this is an area close to my heart. It was good to see your step-by-step method as it plays out in your mind. I was glad you used a fresh song and not one from our transcription club. I will continue to use this method until I know it by heart (and it makes me some money lol).
Transcription can be a daunting task, however once again Warren has made this process seem less troublesome. I love the suggestion of breaking down easier parts of the song first instead of "biting off more than you can chew".
