The presentation is to a predominantly white audience who not that familiar with the history or style of African American Gospel Music. The venue the Church is Green Memorial AME Zion Church located in Portland, Maine, and the Pastor is Reverend Kenneth I. Lewis Jr. The Soloist is the Pastor’s Daughter Alyssa Lewis.
These videos are meant to show you an unrehearsed real-life flow of Gospel music and how I play. You’ll learn stuff like; how I accompany a soloist, how I play “Talk Music” behind the Pastor, how I play solo without the aid of a drummer or bassist, and you’ll learn some cool progressions and voicings used in the various songs.
